Science is a fragile balance between the facts developed from what we know and the hypotheses that form from what we are yet to discover. Molecular biologists work on this balance and turn the favour towards the facts. Cancer incidence is rising with chemotherapeutic measures posing adverse effects on patients hence increasing mortality rates. The area of research that i find really impressive is the use of molecular biology and genomics techniques in vaccines and drug discovery from medicinal plants with little or no side effects in the treatment of diseases. My research aspiration is to understand life on a deeper, biological level and to be involved in the analysis and diagnosis of disease and this has inspired me to pursue a career in molecular biology and genomics.
